Massage prices in Montreal and Laval: $115 is not what leaves your account

Massage therapy is a taxable supply in Québec, not an exempt health service. GST and QST are added at checkout, which surprises people who assume anything therapeutic is tax-free.

So a 60-minute massage advertised at $115 costs about $132 by the time you have paid, and every clinic in the province is in the same position.

The after-tax figures are the combined federal and Québec sales taxes applied to the listed rate. The rates are set by government rather than by us, and they change from time to time, so treat the right-hand column as close rather than exact.

The comparison most people get wrong

When you compare clinics, ask one question: is the stated hour hands-on time, or is it the appointment slot? A "60-minute massage" that includes changing, consultation and settling can be fifty minutes on the table. Against a clinic where sixty means sixty, that is a meaningfully different price per minute even when the headline number matches.

It is a fair question and a quick one, and any clinic will answer it.

Where our rate sits

Across greater Montréal, hourly massage rates commonly run from roughly $100 to $150 depending on the clinic and the therapist's credentials. Ours sits in the middle of that. We are not the cheapest and we are not pretending to be.

The first massage is genuinely cheaper

New clients pay $89 rather than $115. That is a real introductory rate rather than a discount off an inflated number, and it applies once.

Insurance receipts

We provide receipts you can submit. Whether your plan reimburses them depends on your plan and on the professional association your therapist belongs to, and those rules differ between insurers. Check your policy before you assume, rather than after — it is the sort of thing worth confirming in a five-minute phone call.

What we will not do

  • Advertise a price and let the tax be a surprise at the counter.
  • Quote an appointment slot as though it were treatment time.
  • Discount a first massage off a price nobody pays.
  • Promise your insurer will reimburse you.

Where to find us

This page is general information and is not tax, insurance or medical advice. Prices are current as of 3 September 2026, are per session, are stated before tax and can change. Massage therapy is a taxable supply in Québec rather than an exempt health service, and federal and provincial sales taxes are added at checkout; those rates are set by government, can change, and the after-tax figures shown are approximate illustrations rather than quotes. The introductory rate applies to a client's first massage only. Receipts suitable for submission to an insurer are provided; New Age Spa does not guarantee that any insurer will accept or reimburse a claim, as coverage depends on the individual policy and on professional association membership requirements that differ between insurers. Market rate ranges mentioned are general observations about the Greater Montréal area and are not a comparison with any named clinic.
