Lymphatic drainage massage in Laval: the effect is real, and it is measured in days
By the team at New Age Spa · Updated 3 September 2026
Manual lymphatic drainage moves fluid. It does not change the reason the fluid was there. So the lighter feeling afterwards is genuine, and it is temporary — days rather than weeks for most people.
That single fact decides how to buy it: this is a maintenance purchase, not a course with an end, and the clinic you can reach easily is the one that will actually get used.
Who books it when it is not after surgery
- Legs that feel heavy after a day on your feet. Teachers, nurses, hairdressers, anyone standing for eight hours.
- Swelling after a long flight or a long drive. Sitting still does the same thing to fluid that standing still does.
- Cyclical fluid retention. Predictable, monthly, and one of the commonest reasons people rebook.
- General puffiness in a body that is otherwise well. It is a comfort treatment, and there is nothing wrong with buying comfort.
If your reason is post-surgical swelling, that is a different conversation with a clearance step in it, and it belongs on its own page rather than buried here.
What it is not, and we will not pretend otherwise
It is not a detox. The lymphatic system is not a filter full of toxins waiting to be squeezed out, and no massage empties one. It is not slimming, it does not reduce fat, and any centimetre difference straight after a session is fluid moving, not tissue leaving.
We are happy to sell you the comfortable, genuine version of this. We are not going to sell you the other one.
How long it lasts, and what that means for your money
Most people notice the difference for a few days. That is why lymphatic drainage is rebooked more often than almost anything else on the menu — not because a course builds toward something, but because the effect fades and people want it back.
Which is the honest argument for booking near you rather than near the best review. At $135 a session, a monthly habit is a real line in a budget, and a thirty-minute drive is what turns a monthly habit into a twice-a-year one.
What it costs
| Service | Time | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manual lymphatic drainage massage | 60 min | $135 | The light, rhythmic technique |
| Standard massage, 60 minutes | 60 min | $115 | If pressure is what you want |

Prices are pre-tax. Massage therapy is a taxable supply in Québec rather than an exempt health service, so GST and QST are added at checkout.
Expect it to feel like almost nothing
The pressure is very light, because the vessels being worked sit just under the skin. People who booked expecting a firm massage are routinely surprised, and it is worth knowing in advance that gentle is the technique rather than the therapist being careful with you. If you want pressure, book the standard massage instead — and if you are not sure whether you want the facial or the body version, that is a separate question worth settling first.
What we will not do
- Call it a detox, a cleanse, or a slimming treatment.
- Sell a long course on the promise of a permanent change.
- Treat post-surgical swelling without your surgeon's clearance.
- Treat one-sided limb swelling that a doctor has not looked at.
When we will not treat you at all
Active infection, including cellulitis in the area; congestive heart failure; a known or suspected blood clot; untreated or active cancer; and over broken skin, an unhealed incision or an active skin condition in the area.
See a doctor if
One limb is swollen and the other is not, especially if it came on quickly, feels hot or painful, or the skin is red or tight — that can be a clot or an infection and both are urgent. Persistent one-sided swelling can also be lymphoedema, which is a medical diagnosis with a medical care pathway, and massage may be part of that pathway but only after someone has established what you have.

This page is general information and is not medical advice. Prices are current as of 3 September 2026 and can change. Massage prices are stated before tax; massage therapy is a taxable supply in Québec and GST and QST are added at checkout. Manual lymphatic drainage is a light-pressure technique. It is not a detoxifying, cleansing, slimming, weight-loss or fat-reduction treatment and no such effect is claimed; any immediate change in measurement reflects fluid movement rather than tissue loss, and the effect is temporary. New Age Spa does not diagnose or treat lymphoedema or any other medical condition. Anyone who has had surgery, or who has had lymph nodes removed or irradiated, should obtain clearance from the treating physician or surgeon before booking. Treatment is not performed where there is active infection including cellulitis, congestive heart failure, a known or suspected blood clot, untreated or active cancer, or over broken skin, an unhealed incision or an active skin condition in the area. Swelling of one limb, particularly of rapid onset or with heat, pain, redness or tightness of the skin, requires urgent medical assessment.
