Regret a tattoo, or want to fade one for a fresh cover-up? At New Age Spa's Saint-Léonard clinic in Montréal-East, we use the PicoSure® picosecond laser — one of the most advanced tattoo-removal technologies available. Instead of slowly heating ink the way older Q-switched lasers do, PicoSure® fires ultra-short picosecond pulses that shatter the pigment into micro-particles so fine your body simply clears them away. The result: noticeably faster fading, fewer sessions, and less trauma to the surrounding skin — for clients across Saint-Léonard, Anjou, Montréal-Est, and Saint-Michel.
Every removal begins with a free tattoo assessment. We look at the size, age, depth, colour and location of your ink, then map out a realistic session plan and quote. PicoSure® clears the full ink spectrum — from black and blue to stubborn greens — and, crucially, can be tuned to treat all skin tones safely, including darker and ethnic skin that older lasers struggle with. Whether it's a tiny initial or a full sleeve, we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
A complimentary 15-minute assessment with a certified technician at our Saint-Léonard clinic. We measure your tattoo, review its ink and age, then give you an honest session estimate and price — no obligation, no pressure.
For darker skin tones and harder-to-clear colours, we offer pre-treatment skin typing at our Saint-Léonard location — so your PicoSure® settings are dialled in for the safest, most effective clearance.
Tattoo removal is priced per session by the size of the piece — from a tiny initial to a full sleeve. Pricing below is the starting point per PicoSure® session; the number of sessions depends on the ink, its age and depth, and your skin. At your free Saint-Léonard assessment we measure the tattoo and give you a clear, honest plan and total estimate. PicoSure® works on tattoos anywhere on the body, for clients across Saint-Léonard, Anjou, Montréal-Est and Saint-Michel.

Fast, effective clearance of small tattoos with PicoSure® — fewer sessions, less skin trauma than old lasers. Best for: wrist, ankle and small lettering tattoos.
PicoSure® isn't only for body art. It safely removes cosmetic tattoos — faded microblading, old powder brows, eyeliner and lip liner — and it's one of the few lasers that clears the full ink spectrum across every skin tone. Stubborn blues, greens and dense black ink that defeat older lasers respond to PicoSure®'s 755nm wavelength and focus boost, with fewer sessions and a lower risk of scarring or pigment change. Trusted by clients throughout Saint-Léonard, Anjou and Montréal-East.

PicoSure® Picosecond Technology
Fast
PicoSure® delivers energy in trillionths of a second — a true picosecond pulse. That photomechanical shock shatters ink into dust-fine particles rather than just heating it, so your body clears the pigment faster and more completely. Compared with older Q-switched lasers, that usually means fewer total sessions, brighter fading between visits, and less heat damage to the skin around your tattoo across Saint-Léonard and the east end.
Fewer sessions · Brighter fading · Less skin trauma
All Colours · All Skin Tones
Safe
PicoSure®'s 755nm wavelength and focus boost clear the hard cases — dense black, deep blues and notoriously stubborn greens — and the laser can be tuned conservatively for darker and ethnic skin tones that older lasers risk burning or de-pigmenting. We patch test, start cautiously, and space sessions 6–8 weeks apart so skin recovers fully. Honest plans, no overselling — just steady, visible progress.
Clients travel from across the island for laser tattoo removal: Villeray, Rosemont, Anjou, Montréal-Nord, Saint-Michel, Ahuntsic, Petite-Italie and Rivière-des-Prairies. Every one of those appointments happens at our Saint-Léonard clinic at 5045 rue Jean-Talon Est — with free street parking and easy access from the 40 and the 25.

Frequently Asked Questions — Saint-Léonard
PicoSure® is a picosecond laser — it fires pulses lasting trillionths of a second. Instead of slowly heating your tattoo the way older Q-switched lasers do, these ultra-short pulses create a photomechanical shockwave that shatters the ink into dust-fine particles. Your body's immune system then flushes those particles away naturally over the following weeks, so the tattoo fades a little more after each session. Because the ink is broken down so efficiently, PicoSure® usually clears tattoos in fewer sessions and with less heat damage to surrounding skin — which is why we chose it for our Saint-Léonard clinic in Montréal-East.
It varies. Most tattoos need a series of sessions spaced roughly 6 to 8 weeks apart to let the skin recover and the body clear ink between visits. Small, older, faded black tattoos may clear in just a few sessions, while large, dense, multi-colour or recently-done pieces take more. Factors include the ink type and depth, the tattoo's age, its location on the body, and your skin and immune response. If you only want to fade a tattoo for a cover-up rather than fully erase it, that takes fewer sessions. At your free assessment in Saint-Léonard we measure your tattoo and give you a realistic session estimate up front.
There is some discomfort — most people describe it as similar to an elastic band snapping against the skin, or a bit like getting the tattoo in the first place. Because PicoSure® pulses are so fast, each pass is brief, and treatment time is short. We use cooling and can apply a numbing option for sensitive areas or larger pieces to keep you comfortable. Afterward the area may feel like a mild sunburn for a day or two, with possible redness, slight swelling, or temporary frosting. Our Saint-Léonard technicians work to make every session as tolerable as possible.
Yes. PicoSure®'s 755nm wavelength and focus boost are particularly good at clearing the colours that frustrate older lasers — dense black, deep blues, and especially stubborn greens — as well as multi-colour tattoos. Just as importantly, the laser can be tuned to treat darker and ethnic skin tones safely. Older removal lasers carry a real risk of burns and loss of natural pigment on deeper skin; PicoSure®, used conservatively with proper spacing, greatly lowers that risk. We have extensive experience treating the diverse skin tones of Saint-Léonard, Anjou and Saint-Michel.
Pricing is per session and based mainly on size — at our Saint-Léonard clinic it starts from $60 for a mini tattoo and scales up to from $330 for XL pieces like sleeves and full-back work. The total cost depends on how many sessions your tattoo needs, which in turn depends on the ink type and density, the colours involved, the tattoo's age and depth, and your skin. Cosmetic tattoo (permanent makeup/microblading) removal starts from $180. There are no surprises: at your free assessment we measure the tattoo and give you a clear per-session price and an honest estimate of the full series before you commit.
Aftercare is what makes results stick. Keep the area clean and apply the soothing ointment we recommend; cover any blistering loosely and never pick or pop it, as that risks scarring. Avoid direct sun and use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ on the treated area between sessions — sun is the biggest enemy of safe removal. Skip saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, intense workouts and tight clothing over the area for a few days. Staying hydrated, not smoking, and good general health all help your immune system flush the shattered ink faster, which means cleaner fading between visits. We give every Saint-Léonard client a written aftercare plan.
Before & After Your Removal
Avoid Sun & Tanning
Keep the tattoo out of direct sun and avoid tanning for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Tanned or burned skin cannot be lasered safely.
Shave & Clean the Area
Gently shave the area and arrive with clean, product-free skin — no lotions, oils, or makeup over the tattoo on the day.
Skip Blood Thinners if You Can
Where medically appropriate, avoid alcohol and non-essential blood thinners for 24 hours to reduce bruising. Never stop prescribed medication without your doctor.
Tell Us Your History
Let us know about cold sores, recent procedures, medications, allergies, or pregnancy — this guides safe settings for your skin tone and ink.
Apply SPF 30+ Every Day
The treated area is highly UV-sensitive between sessions. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily — Montréal's UV climbs fast in summer across Saint-Léonard and the east end.
Do Not Pick or Pop Blisters
Some redness, swelling, or blistering is normal. Let it heal on its own; picking can cause scarring and dark marks, especially on deeper skin tones.
Keep It Clean & Soothed
Apply only the gentle ointment we recommend and keep the area covered and clean. Avoid scrubbing or strong actives until fully healed.
No Heat or Sweat
Skip saunas, hot tubs, swimming, and intense workouts for 48 to 72 hours to keep the area calm while your body begins clearing the shattered ink.
Most healthy adults with an unwanted or unloved tattoo — body art or cosmetic — are excellent candidates, and PicoSure® works on all ink colours and all skin tones. It's equally suited to those who want a full erase and those who only want to fade a tattoo for a cover-up. Removal may be postponed for active cold sores or infection in the area, sunburned or recently-tanned skin, certain photosensitizing medications, or pregnancy/breastfeeding. Your technician will confirm what's safe for you during your free assessment in Saint-Léonard.
Yes. Once your tattoo is cleared, many clients pair removal with Laser Skin Rejuvenation to refine any residual texture or pigment, with Microneedling to smooth the skin's surface, or with advanced facials for overall skin health. Your technician at our Saint-Léonard clinic will sequence treatments safely so the area heals fully between steps.
