Professional LED facial or home mask: for a treatment that works by repetition, the one you keep using wins

Our panel is stronger than a home mask, positioned properly, and run by someone watching your skin. All true. It is also $135 a session, and light therapy works on frequency rather than intensity.

Three sessions a week on a modest mask will out-deliver one professional session a month for most people. We would rather say that than take the booking.

Where the professional session genuinely wins

  • After other treatments. Calming skin down after a peel, needling or laser is the use where being here matters, because it is timed to something we did.
  • When someone should be looking at your skin. A mask does not notice that your "breakout" is something else, or that you are reacting to a product.
  • Coverage and position. A panel on an arm sits at a consistent distance across the whole face. A mask sits on your face, which sounds better and is less even than you would think around the nose and jaw.
  • When you will not do it at home. The honest one. If a mask will sit in a drawer, it is worth nothing and the appointment is worth something.

Where the mask genuinely wins

Cost per exposure, and therefore adherence. A cumulative treatment rewards the person who does it three times a week for a year, and almost nobody books a clinic appointment three times a week for a year. If you will use it, a mask is very likely the better purchase, and that is not a difficult admission to make.

If you are buying a mask, two things to check

  • Does it state its wavelengths and its irradiance? Many do not. A device that will not tell you what it emits or how strongly is asking you to take the glow on trust.
  • Does it come with proper eye protection, and does it cover the eyes? Bright light close to the face for twenty minutes is not something to be casual about.

We do not sell masks and we are not recommending a brand. Those two questions are simply the ones that separate a device from a light-up novelty.

What the professional session costs

ServiceTimePriceBest used for
Free Facial Consult15 minNo chargeWhether light is even the right tool for your skin
Red Light Therapy Facial45 min$135The session on its own
Deep Cleansing Facial + LED60 min$135Same price, 60 minutes, with an actual facial around it

If you are booking a professional LED session for skin reasons, the cleansing facial with LED is the same price for fifteen more minutes and more done. Same prices at all four clinics.

The sensible arrangement, if you want one

Use a mask for the frequency, and come in when there is a reason to: after a treatment, when something changes, or when you want a professional set of eyes on your skin. That is a smaller amount of money spent here than a course of sessions, and for most people it is the better plan. Which of our two light services fits is a separate question.

What we will not do

  • Tell you a home mask does nothing. It is not true.
  • Sell a course of LED sessions to someone who would be better served by a mask.
  • Recommend a brand or take a commission on one.
  • Attach health claims to light therapy beyond the skin.

When we will not treat you at all

During pregnancy, if you take medication that makes you sensitive to light, if you have a condition made worse by light exposure, or over active infection or broken skin. Eye protection is worn for every session, here or at home.

See a doctor if

You have a photosensitive condition such as lupus or porphyria, you take photosensitising medication, or you have a history of skin cancer. Those apply to a mask exactly as much as to a clinic panel, and a device bought online will not ask you about any of them.

What we offer for this

Prices are a starting point and the consultation is free. What actually suits you is decided when we see the skin, not from a page.

Where to find us

This page is general information and is not medical advice. Prices are current as of 3 September 2026, are per session, and can change. New Age Spa does not sell home LED devices, does not recommend any brand and receives no commission on any device mentioned. Comments on home devices are general and cannot describe any particular product; devices vary widely in wavelength, output and eye protection, and many do not publish those specifications. Light therapy effects are cumulative and depend on repeated sessions; outcomes vary between individuals and no result is guaranteed. Light therapy is not a weight-loss or fat-removal treatment. Evidence is strongest and most specific for effects on skin, and no broader health claims are made here. Treatment is not performed during pregnancy, where a photosensitive condition exists, while taking photosensitising medication, or over active infection or broken skin. Eye protection should be worn for every session, professional or at home. Anyone with a photosensitive condition such as lupus or porphyria, taking photosensitising medication, or with a history of skin cancer should consult a physician before using light therapy of any kind, including a home device.
