LED face and full body red light therapy are not a small and a big version of the same thing
By the team at New Age Spa · Updated 3 September 2026
The facial is $135 and the full body is $165, both for 45 minutes. That $30 gap makes the full body look like the same treatment with more of you in it. It is not.
Same session length spread over far more skin is not a larger dose. It is a different target, and the two are worth buying for different things.
What each one is actually aimed at
- LED facial — $135, 45 minutes. A panel close to the face, treating skin. This is where the use is most specific: calming inflammation, supporting skin that is breaking out, and settling things down after other treatments. It is a skin appointment.
- Full body red light — $165, 45 minutes. Light delivered across the whole body rather than concentrated on one area. People book it for general recovery, muscle soreness after training, and how they feel afterwards. It is a wellness appointment.
If you cannot say which of those two sentences describes what you want, that is the thing to settle before you pay for either.
The honest part about the evidence
The claims made for light therapy get broader the further they travel from the skin. Skin effects are the most studied and the most specific. Once the marketing moves on to sleep, energy, metabolism and general wellbeing, the evidence gets thinner and the promises get bigger, and that pattern is not unique to us — it applies to every clinic selling this.
So we will describe the full body session as what it is: a pleasant, low-risk 45 minutes that many people find helps with soreness and recovery. We are not going to attach a list of health outcomes to it.
What neither of them is
Neither is a slimming treatment, and neither removes fat. Red light gets bundled with EMS and sold as body contouring, and that pairing is worth reading about before you buy a package built on it.
What it costs
| Service | Time | Price | Buy it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Facial Consult | 15 min | No charge | Working out which of the two you actually want |
| Red Light Therapy Facial | 45 min | $135 | Skin — inflammation, breakouts, calming |
| Red Light Therapy — Full Body | 45 min | $165 | Recovery and soreness across the whole body |
| Deep Cleansing Facial + LED | 60 min | $135 | A cleansing facial with the light included |
Worth noticing: the Deep Cleansing Facial with LED is $135 for 60 minutes — the same price as the LED facial alone, for fifteen minutes more and an actual facial around it. If your reason for booking is skin rather than light specifically, that is the better-value door.
All four clinics, same prices.
How often, and when it is not worth starting
Light therapy is cumulative and works on repetition rather than intensity, so a single session is close to pointless as a purchase. If you cannot see yourself coming regularly for a stretch, this is not the treatment to start with, and we would rather say that than sell you one appointment.
What we will not do
- Sell the full body session as a health treatment.
- Claim either one removes fat or slims you.
- Recommend a single session as though it would do something.
- Suggest full body is simply the bigger version of the facial.
When we will not treat you at all
During pregnancy, if you take medication that makes you sensitive to light, if you have a condition made worse by light exposure, or over active infection or broken skin. Eye protection is worn for every session and is not optional.
See a doctor if
You have a photosensitive condition such as lupus or porphyria, you take photosensitising medication, or you have a history of skin cancer — those are conversations to have with a physician before booking light therapy of any kind, not after.

This page is general information and is not medical advice. Prices are current as of 3 September 2026, are per session, and can change. Light therapy is not a weight-loss or fat-removal treatment and does not slim. Effects are cumulative and depend on repeated sessions; a single session should not be expected to produce a result, and outcomes vary between individuals with no result guaranteed. Evidence for light therapy is strongest and most specific for effects on skin; broader claims about sleep, energy, metabolism or general wellbeing are not made here. Treatment is not performed during pregnancy, where a photosensitive condition exists, while taking photosensitising medication, or over active infection or broken skin. Eye protection is worn for every session. Anyone with a photosensitive condition such as lupus or porphyria, taking photosensitising medication, or with a history of skin cancer should consult a physician before any light therapy.
