The machine is the easy part. Whether you can come eight times is the real question

EMS is a course, not an appointment. One session is an experience; a series is the only thing that changes how a muscle sits. Everything anyone asks us about the machine matters far less than whether eight to ten trips fit into the next six weeks of your life.

So this page is mostly arithmetic and geography rather than technology. If the arithmetic does not work for you, the honest answer is to keep your money, and we will tell you that at the consultation.

What a course actually asks of you

What it isWhat that means in practice
A single session45 minutes on the table. Useful to find out whether you like the sensation. It does not change anything on its own.
A working seriesRoughly twice a week for four to six weeks. That is eight to twelve visits, plus parking and the drive.
After the seriesMuscle detrains like any other training. Something has to continue, here or in a gym, or it fades.

That third row is the one people are least often told, and it is the reason we wrote a whole page about what happens when you stop. Read it before you buy anything, not after.

The Pointe-Claire part

Our West Island clinic is on Brunswick in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, which is a few minutes from most of Pointe-Claire and about the same from Kirkland, Beaconsfield and Pierrefonds. That closeness is the whole point: a course of eight to twelve visits only survives contact with a real week if the drive is short.

Late afternoons and early evenings fill first, so if those are the only times you can come, book the whole series at once rather than one appointment at a time. That is a scheduling reality, not a sales tactic, and the front desk will say the same thing.

Before the calendar, check you have the right problem

EMS contracts muscle. It does not remove fat and it does not tighten skin, and most disappointment with it comes from having been sold it for one of those two things. Three quick reads that will save you a consultation:

If you already know the area

Some questions are area-specific enough to deserve their own page. The ones people from this side of the island read most: outer thighs and saddlebags, the male chest, and the flanks and love handles. The service and the price are the same wherever you read about it; only the placement of the pads changes.

What it costs

TreatmentTimePrice
Free body consultation15 minNo charge
Slimwave EMS with infrared45 min$135

Same price at all four clinics, including West Island. Multiply the second row by the number of visits in your series before you decide anything — that number, not the session price, is what you are actually being asked to spend.

What we will not do

  • Sell EMS as a fat or weight-loss treatment.
  • Sell a long series to someone who has just told us they travel for work most weeks.
  • Let anyone leave believing a single session will show them a result.
  • Suggest that treating one area reduces fat in that area.

When we will not treat you at all

A pacemaker or any implanted electrical device, pregnancy, epilepsy, metal in the area being treated, or broken or infected skin all rule EMS out completely. Raise heart conditions when you book rather than once you are on the table, so nobody wastes a trip in from the West Island.

See a doctor if

One limb is noticeably larger than the other, a leg or arm swells, or there is pain and warmth in a limb. None of that is cosmetic and some of it is urgent. The same goes for sudden abdominal swelling or a hernia you can feel, which needs assessing before anything is strapped over it.

What we offer for this

Prices are a starting point and the consultation is free. What actually suits you is decided when we see the skin, not from a page.

Where to find us

This page is general information and is not medical advice. Prices are current as of 1 September 2026 and can change. Electrical muscle stimulation works on muscle: it does not remove fat, reduce weight, or tighten skin, and any result requires ongoing maintenance. Session counts on this page describe how we schedule a course, not a promised outcome. EMS is contraindicated with pacemakers and implanted electrical devices, during pregnancy, with epilepsy, and over metal implants. Limb swelling, asymmetry or pain should be assessed by a physician.
