What is Laser hair removal?

Permanent Laser Hair Removal is a type of epilation that involves laser to target the melanin within the hair follicles to damage the hair bulb thermally. This safe procedure causes the hair to grow back sparsely and weaker at first and for some hair to fall out. After about six sessions, you can look forward to your skin being permanently hairless.

The price for laser hair removal will vary depending on which body parts you want to laser. Our price range is from 60$ per session for a small area to 450$ per session for the full body laser hair removal bundle. We also have a 50% discount on all areas after you select two or more body parts. For more pricing and booking, click here.

What causes excess hair?

Excessive hair growth, also known as hirsutism, is primarily caused by hormones and genetics. In men, excess hair can be seen as dense, high volume hair growth on the back, chest, arms and legs. Although women tend to have less hair on most body areas than men, hirsutism may cause more than average hair growth, usually on the upper lips, chin, sideburns, bikini, chest and back.

What can I do to remove unwanted hair?

There are multiple solutions to remove or reduce the presence of hair on the body. For example, temporary hair removal involves sugaring, waxing and shaving, while permanent hair removal is done with Laser technology. While quick hair removal methods allow hair to grow back after a couple of weeks, laser hair removal will permanently stop hair growth on the face and body.

Full body laser

This epilation service is most commonly offered one at a time for each body part you would like to target. For example, while one client might seek lasers for the underarms, another will be interested in the legs, and another might be targeting the back, the face, or even the bikini area. Sometimes one client does all these treatments over years. When clients choose a complete body laser hair removal package, they buy a series of laser treatments that will cover the entire body each session. Over several sessions, this epilation package aims to target all the areas on the body where they have unwanted hair. Since everybody is different, every full-body laser hair treatment package will be different as well.

Laser Hair Removal Experience

Laser hair removal technology is designed to heat up and damage hair follicles to stop their growth cycle. The laser’s unique feature is that it’s attracted to the melanin or pigment, precisely targeting the skin’s hair without damaging surrounding tissue. This technology makes for better and faster results. Each laser session, your hair will get weaker and eventually stop growing.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

This form of hair removal uses the energy of a laser to eliminate any hairs on the face or body. It can be used on any body part where there is hair that you would like removed permanently. The laser is shone onto the area, absorbing the melanin in the hair. That is the part of the hair that is responsible for producing pigment. When the laser interacts with the melanin, the hair follicle is thermally damaged. This results in reducing and preventing future growth from that spot.

Clients can expect 80 per cent permanent hair removal within just four to eight sessions. That can take on average about six months.

What To Exprect From Laser Treatments?

It can take about six months to complete all the sessions required for permanent laser hair removal. The level of pain can also vary, depending on your skin and on the area you have chosen for hair removal. There will be little zaps to the skin that can feel like elastics snapping against you. You will be asked to exfoliate at home in the shower afterward in order to speed up the process. After your first appointment, you will likely notice that your hair grows back sparser than it did before the treatment, but it will take a few weeks before the hairs start to fall out, and even more weeks (and sessions) before they are permanently removed.

Clients can expect 80 per cent permanent hair removal within just four to eight sessions. That can take on average about six months.

What Should I Do Before My Laser Treatment?

Avoid any other hair removal method treatment before your laser appointment. To ensure minimal discomfort and effective laser procedures, you should shave the targeted areas 24 hours before your laser appointment. The shorter the hair is, the better. Also, Avoid using acne creams, prescription meds, tanning or fake tanning, moisturizers and oils, photo-sensitizing products, and skin lightening products.

How Do I Prepare For My Laser Hair Removal Appointment?

On the day of your appointment, you should take a shower and show up with cleansed skin, but do not apply any skincare products or lotion. You should also bring clothes that are comfortable and not too tight, to reduce friction against the skin. If you are doing laser hair removal on the face, it is best to bring shades and a large sun-blocking hat.

What Should I Do In Between Laser Hair Treatments?

Avoid waxing or tweezing your hair for six weeks before your appointment. The hair growth cycle is an essential factor in laser hair removal results, which is why you should schedule your appointments for about 28 days apart.

What Should I Do After Laser?

You will be asked to avoid the sun and any tanning for the first week after your laser hair removal sessions. After a few days, You can exfoliate the treated area with a gentle scrub when you are in the shower, in order to help speed up the process of hair loss and shedding. View aftercare instructions here.

Although most people tolerate laser treatments very well, some sensitive areas may cause discomfort. Such areas include the inner thighs and bikini. You can purchase a numbing cream and apply it prior to your session. You can also take a pain reliever like acetaminophen or ibuprofen about 30 minutes before the session to reduce any discomfort.

Laser Hair Removal Consultation

Since the laser light targets the dark pigment found in hair, the majority of laser hair removal options are often most effective on people who have darker hair and lighter skin tones. Each client has different skin types and skin tones, so different wavelengths can be used depending on individual client needs. This allows those with darker skin tones to avoid the laser discolouring the melanin found in surrounding skin.

To determine which wavelength you would receive, or if this treatment is your best option, FREE consultation with a medical esthetician is included during all appointments. They will be able to make sure you get the best hair removal treatment option that is targeted specifically for your own individual needs.

You should not get laser hair removal if you are taking isotretinoin, or if you are pregnant. You should also not get laser hair removal if you have skin diseases or infections.

How Long Is Each Appointment?

Your esthetician uses a device that will shine a laser at the targeted area of your body where you would like to reduce or permanently eliminate hair growth. The session could take between 20 minutes and over an hour, depending on the size of the area you have selected for laser hair removal.

How Often Should I Get Laser Done?

Although we have some of the best technology on the laser market today, the nature of this treatment requires multiple session to target the hair in different growth cycles. As a results we recommend 4 to 8 sessions for complete and permanent hair removal with many clients that observe permanent results in 5 sessions (results may vary)

Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?

Essentially, laser hair removal is a safe thermal injury to the hair bulb, which leaves the follicle weaker and creates thinner hair. With repeated sessions, the thinning hair eventually leads to complete hairlessness. While body hair is nothing to be ashamed of, some people really look forward to the convenience of ditching razors, wax, and ingrown hairs for good.
