What is Cleansing Facial extraction?

Facial extraction treatments in our Montreal and Laval spas are designed to significantly improve the skin’s health by giving it a fresh start. Facial extraction is the process of clearing and unclogging congested pores and removing toxins that cause blemishes, blackheads and pimples. Extraction improves the overall tone, texture, and appearance of the skin. At New Age Spa, our professional skincare therapists perform facial extractions as part of our Deep Cleansing Facial treatment.

Benefits of Deep Cleansing Facials and Extraction

Our Deep Cleansing Facial is a signature facial provided by our team of medical estheticians or skincare therapists. Deep Cleansing Facials are tailored to fit the specific needs of your skin. They include the added benefit of manual or mechanical extractions to provide deeper skin.

A deep clean beyond the skin’s surface.

Our deep cleansing facial treatment offers a deep clean of the skin’s layers using premium, high-quality products, serums, and creams. Deep Cleansing Facials give the skin a refreshed and healthy glow. Extractions of blackhead-causing toxins are performed during the facial, along with a relaxing and hydrating facial massage.

What causes blackheads?

Blackheads appear as small, dark or black bumps on the skin. Blackheads are a mild form of acne caused by pores or hair follicles clogged by dead skin, toxins, or oil. Blackheads can also appear due to unexfoliated skin or hormonal changes. Blackheads are very common and easily treated with an extraction facial and deep cleansing of the pores to remove toxins, debris, excess oil, and dead skin, preventing future blackheads.

How does a deep cleansing facial work?

We begin by cleansing the skin of environmental toxins, impurities, acne, and comedones. Next, the skin is hydrated with vitamin-rich serums and creams. Extraction treatments during a Deep Cleansing Facial include exfoliation followed by ultrasonic tools to improve the skin’s circulation and collagen production.

Our professional skincare therapists will extract any visible acne or comedones before applying a calming toner. We then use serums, creams for a facial massage and purifying mask along with hydrating moisture. Our relaxing facial treatment also includes a pampering massage throughout the experience.

What results can be expected after deep cleansing facial treatments?

A Deep Cleansing Facial treatment reduces the appearance of blemishes by cleansing pores deep beneath the surface. Skin is refreshed after a series of deep cleansing techniques performed by our team of medical estheticians and skincare therapists. A Deep Cleansing Facial treatment with extraction improves the skin’s health, tone, texture, and glow. For the best pore-clearing results, a Deep Cleansing Facial treatment is recommended every couple of months.

Pre-Treatment Skin Analysis

Before facial treatments, you will meet with our skin experts for a skin analysis consultation to customize a treatment plan and determine the best products and techniques for your skin type, concerns, and goals.

Cleansing facial appointment

This facial offers a deep cleanse using products that are rich in botanical extracts, along with blemish extractions either done manually or with professional tools.

Since everyone’s skin is different, facials are customized depending on the clients’ needs. This includes the products that are selected for use, but also if and which electric or light therapy equipment might be offered.

Skincare recommendations

After the treatment, your esthetician will ask you about your experience and talk about some of the products that were used. They will recommend to you some products you can use at home to ensure the results of your facial last as long as possible, and advise on how to use them to keep that post-spa glow going strong well into your next session.

What to expect from facial extractions

The exfoliation provided by the esthetician removes dead skin cells and helps to promote new skin cell growth. In addition to exfoliation, your deep cleansing facial will improve circulation, reduce stress and tension, remove toxins, and reduce aging skin factors. As well, the products that we use can help stimulate collagen production and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Since our estheticians will use massage techniques throughout the treatment, it will also help to relax the nerves of your skin, and activate your skin glands and metabolism.

Your results

Whether you are looking to correct skin conditions such as dryness, oiliness, comedones, aging, or imperfections from acne, or just to maintain the health of your skin, you can be sure your deep cleansing facial will leave your skin looking and feeling renewed.

What should I do before Facial extractions?

Be honest with your esthetician when they ask you questions during the consultation, especially about the medications you are taking, as well as any skin or health conditions you might have. And be sure to book your Deep Cleansing Facial sessions about 4 to 6 weeks apart. At minimum, quarterly.

What should I do after a Facial extraction?

The immediate effects of a deep cleansing facial will last between five and seven days. To extend results, follow at-home skincare recommendations provided by your esthetician and keep skin hydrated. Exfoliate weekly but not immediately. Wait 10 days after your facial and use a gentle scrub.

Additionally, please avoid saunas, steam rooms and the gym for the first 24 to 48 hours after your facial. Steam can create broken capillaries and sweating can irritate your skin. Don’t wax, shave, or do laser hair removal right away. Do not tan since the skin will be particularly sensitive after your facial. Do not pick at your skin. Do not do any at-home peels or retinoids for about a week. Use nourishing facial oils.

Do not wash your face that first night. Don’t use makeup for at least the first 24 hours. Remember that redness is normal after a facial, and drink a lot of water. Moisturize with a gentle cream, use a high SPF sunscreen, and keep a healthy skincare routine.

Vitamin C serum after facial

Incorporate a vitamin C serum into your routine to boost collagen production and reduce wrinkles. Book your next session as early as possible so you can be sure your deep cleansing facials are a month to a month-and-a-half apart. The treatment will include at-home products recommended by your esthetician, as well as follow-up appointments on schedule.

Facial treatment contradindications

This treatment is useful and accessible to nearly everyone; all ages, genders, skin types, and complexions. If you have an active rash or a sunburn, you should wait for them to heal before booking your session.

Estheticians may ask clients to rebook their facial once a skin growth or rash has healed in the case of some skin disorders, such as active cold sores, impetigo, and molluscum contagiosum. Some skin disorders might make certain techniques or treatments limited, such as how clients with keloids should not get treatments that could result in a cut. There are some other skin diseases and disorders which will prompt an esthetician to ask the client to see a dermatologist.

People who know they are pregnant should tell their estheticians so they can choose products, tools, and techniques that are proven to be safe during pregnancy.
