What is facial extraction?

Improve your skin’s health by giving it a fresh start. Our Deep Cleansing Facial is a signature facial provided by one of our estheticians or skin care therapists. Beyond being tailor-made to fit the specific needs of your skin, this Deep Cleansing Facial also includes the added benefit of manual or mechanical extractions, to provide a deeper clean beyond the surface. You will be pampered with massage techniques throughout this relaxing experience, while we cleanse away any environmental toxins, impurities, acne, and comedones. Treat yourself to the hydrating, vitamin-rich serums and creams your skin has been asking for.

Skin Benefits

After your deep cleansing facial session you will find healthy, glowing, younger-looking skin, regardless of the personalized approach you receive based on your consultation and skin analysis. No matter the approach or products used based on your own specific needs, you can expect your skin tone, texture, and appearance to be improved with a deep cleansing facial.

This facial offers a deep cleanse using products that are rich in botanical extracts, along with blemish extractions either done manually or with professional tools.

Since everyone’s skin is different, facials are customized depending on the clients’ needs. This includes the products that are selected for use, but also if and which electric or light therapy equipment might be offered.

Pre-treatment skin analysis

Your esthetician will first provide a skin analysis consultation even if you are a returning customer. This is to determine skin type, as well as to inspect if there are signs of aging, comedones or acne, or dilated capillaries to address. They will also consider the skin texture and tone. This will allow the esthetician to be sure to offer you an optimal facial experience, using the best products and tools for you, and offering to add on extra services that would be most beneficial to you.

Facial extractions

From there, the esthetician will begin the facial with a pre-cleanse, then a double gel cleanse with relaxing massage movements. The next step is exfoliation, either manually or mechanically, before the esthetician uses ultrasonic tools to improve circulation, collagen production and clear the pores. Then, a massage. At this point, your skincare therapist will extract any visible acne or comedones before applying a calming toner. Now comes another massage with serum, oil or cream to prepare the skin for a purifying mask. It will be left on for ten minutes under a steamer. Once the mask is removed, a repairing and hydrating serum will be applied before a hydrating moisturizer.

Skincare recommendations

After the treatment, your esthetician will ask you about your experience and talk about some of the products that were used. They will recommend to you some products you can use at home to ensure the results of your facial last as long as possible, and advise on how to use them to keep that post-spa glow going strong well into your next session.

What to expect from facial extractions

The exfoliation provided by the esthetician removes dead skin cells and helps to promote new skin cell growth. In addition to exfoliation, your deep cleansing facial will improve circulation, reduce stress and tension, remove toxins, and reduce aging skin factors. As well, the products that we use can help stimulate collagen production and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Since our estheticians will use massage techniques throughout the treatment, it will also help to relax the nerves of your skin, and activate your skin glands and metabolism.

Your results

Whether you are looking to correct skin conditions such as dryness, oiliness, comedones, aging, or imperfections from acne, or just to maintain the health of your skin, you can be sure your deep cleansing facial will leave your skin looking and feeling renewed.

What are blackheads

Blackheads are skin bumps that are caused by clogged oil in pores or hair follicles. In fact, they can be caused by oily skin, unexfoliated skin and hormonal changes. Furthermore, blackheads are very common and everyone will experience them on the face, scalp, chest or back at one point in their life. The extraction facial not only removes blackheads, but also dead skin cells, sebum and excess oils, preventing more blackheads in the future.

What should I do before Facial extractions?

Be honest with your esthetician when they ask you questions during the consultation, especially about the medications you are taking, as well as any skin or health conditions you might have. And be sure to book your Deep Cleansing Facial sessions about 4 to 6 weeks apart. At minimum, quarterly.

What should I do after a Facial extraction?

The immediate effects of a deep cleansing facial will last between five and seven days. To extend results, follow at-home skincare recommendations provided by your esthetician and keep skin hydrated. Exfoliate weekly but not immediately. Wait 10 days after your facial and use a gentle scrub.

Additionally, please avoid saunas, steam rooms and the gym for the first 24 to 48 hours after your facial. Steam can create broken capillaries and sweating can irritate your skin. Don’t wax, shave, or do laser hair removal right away. Do not tan since the skin will be particularly sensitive after your facial. Do not pick at your skin. Do not do any at-home peels or retinoids for about a week. Use nourishing facial oils.

Do not wash your face that first night. Don’t use makeup for at least the first 24 hours. Remember that redness is normal after a facial, and drink a lot of water. Moisturize with a gentle cream, use a high SPF sunscreen, and keep a healthy skincare routine.

Vitamin C serum after facial

Incorporate a vitamin C serum into your routine to boost collagen production and reduce wrinkles. Book your next session as early as possible so you can be sure your deep cleansing facials are a month to a month-and-a-half apart. The treatment will include at-home products recommended by your esthetician, as well as follow-up appointments on schedule.

Facial treatment contradindications

This treatment is useful and accessible to nearly everyone; all ages, genders, skin types, and complexions. If you have an active rash or a sunburn, you should wait for them to heal before booking your session.

Estheticians may ask clients to rebook their facial once a skin growth or rash has healed in the case of some skin disorders, such as active cold sores, impetigo, and molluscum contagiosum. Some skin disorders might make certain techniques or treatments limited, such as how clients with keloids should not get treatments that could result in a cut. There are some other skin diseases and disorders which will prompt an esthetician to ask the client to see a dermatologist.

People who know they are pregnant should tell their estheticians so they can choose products, tools, and techniques that are proven to be safe during pregnancy.
