Post-treatment guidelines

Post-care instruction after your scalp micropigmentation treatment for best experience and long-term results.


    1. Make sure you wash your hands before you touch the treatment area as fingers may have bacteria and cause an infection.
    2. Don’t rub, scratch, pick any scabs or irritate the scalp while it is healing as pigmentation can be removed along with the scabs.
    3. Do not apply irritating products or shampoos that contain harsh chemicals such as AHA’s or alcohol.
    4. Donating blood should be avoided for 1-year post-treatment and mention your scalp tattoo.
    5. Avoid physical activities such as sports and saunas that may cause excessive sweating.
    6. Don’t wash your head or get water on it. The desire to wash your scalp may be strong, but for the first four days, you should resist the temptation.
    7. Avoid swimming, chlorinated pools, steam rooms and tanning beds.
    8. Avoid razor shaving your scalp. We recommend opting for a quality trimmer. 

Short term

  1. Rest as much as possible and avoid sweating. Avoid sitting in the sun.
  2. By day (4) four, you can wash your scalp with water and a mild cleanser that does not contain alcohol.
  3. If you feel dry skin on your scalp, this is the time to apply a moisturizer.
  4. During the first 30 days, it is critical that you avoid exposure to UV rays, intense sweating, or any damage to the scalp while your micro-pigmentation completely heals.

long term

  1. Continue to avoid direct exposure to intense sunlight, and protect yourself from UV rays. Use a close cut trimmer instead of shaving.
  2. Moisturize your scalp regularly.
  3. Apply sunscreen SPF 60 minimum when you are out in the sun for more than 30 minutes.
